Scott Groves Joins Locate as Director of Real Estate

We’re happy to announce and welcome a new member of our brokerage team today, Scott Groves, Director of Real Estate.  Scott joins Locate as a broker with 10 years of experience in the industry with a Portland and Vancouver market focus. He started his career with Barnard Commercial Real Estate, where he initially focused on retail leasing for tenants and landlords and has since expanded his expertise to investment and owner-occupied sales, navigating through various sectors of the industry.  He draws on his experience working on projects from inception and planning to construction and has experience in land sales, office space, industrial and flex real estate. Throughout his career, Scott has developed expansion plans for local, regional, and national businesses, analyzing demographics and consumer behavior patterns to identify effective footprints.  Locate will give Scott the opportunity to manage his own brokerage in his home town of Portland where he is also actively involved with ICSC NextGen, organizing retail real estate events in the area.  He believes that a tech-enabled brokerage is the future of commercial real estate and that Locate will allow him to be at the forefront of innovation. Scott’s focus will be on representing retailers on a regional and national level, while also representing landlords and property owners in leasing and sales in the retail sector.  Scott earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies at the University of Oregon where he also focused on PPPM (Planning, Public Policy, and Management) and minored in Business. In his free time, you can find Scott playing music and jamming with his friends, pontooning on the Tualatin River, or playing golf. He hopes to one day become an investor in real estate.

More About Scott

Scott Groves began his real estate career in 2010 after graduating from the University of Oregon. Upon graduation, he supported the building process of his mother’s home on her property and developed a network in the Portland area, growing his interest and experience in supporting communities and the commercial world. Scott is a Principal Broker, based in his home town of Oregon, and is passionate about helping businesses and investors succeed in real estate.  Prior to starting his career in real estate, Scott spent the summers of his undergraduate years serving the Forest Service as a firefighter, based out of John Day. In his free time, Scott enjoys playing guitar with friends and performing shows for a charity band he organized, called “Party with a Purpose.” He’s a big fan of classic rock artists, like Santana, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, and Mark Knopfler.  We’re looking forward to having Scott onboard!
